Welcome to the resistance.  We drive classic vehicles here.  The controls are still mechanical, there are no cameras or trackers, and the cars aren't connected to the net.  The state can’t assume control and run you into a wall or trigger a thermal-runaway event on your main battery - and erase your ass with a wicked chemical fire.  There is no battery as a matter of fact, aside from the ole 12 volt.  Cars like this used to run on gasoline.  This one has been modified to run on pure ethanol.  By the way, the state found three more of our underground greenhouses and torched them the other day, so fuel is in shorter supply than usual.  Your driver will only have a quarter tank to work with for your first mission.  But don’t worry, she’s one of our best behind the wheel.

Every other sheep on the road will be in an automated EV of course.  Their default behavior is to stay out of harm's way, so they should avoid you.  Though, if the state or one of their corporate tentacles get desperate, they may use any one of the aforementioned sheep to form a blockade or ram your vehicle.  They may even turn them into suicide bombers - overheat the battery, THEN ram you.

What?  You don’t think they’ll sacrifice a few cattle here and there to get at one of us?  I’ve seen them do it! You don’t have to worry about that though, not yet anyway.  They’re reluctant to use those sorts of tactics, and you, heh, you’re small game.  They probably won’t even shoot at you.  Probably.  Listen, all you have to do is sit shotgun and do what you’re told.  You’ve been practicing that last part all your life, huh?  Hah!

You’ll get all the details for the mission an hour before go-time, and you’ll get to meet the driver then as well.
